UNIVERSITY OF NEW ENGLAND - INDOOR RECREATION CENTRE

Stage 1: 2008 - 2010.   Stage 2: 2017 - 2020

The SportUNE Indoor Recreation Centre is a well-patronised facility providing sport facilities for students, staff, local schools and the general public.
The $10m (2009) project provides the following new and enhanced facilities:
• New gym, international standard basketball hall, indoor swimming pool, entrance, foyer, cafe and administration offices.
• Major refurbishment of the existing indoor swimming pool.
• Provision of geothermal pool water and space heating.

Budget constraints saw the project undertaken in two stages, with Stage 1 completed in 2011 and Stage 2, the indoor pool and geothermal plant, completed in 2020.

Services provided: Brief development, design, development application, tender documentation, and construction phase services.
