WESTERN SYDNEY UNIVERSITY - STUDENT RESIDENTIAL VILLAGE

Stage 1: 1992 - 1993.   Stage 2: 1994 - 1995

Sited on a north facing slope with views across a gully to the university oval, the development in concept is a hill town in a rural setting, consisting of 25 x 5 bedroom town houses, management centre and communal club house.

The linear site plan running parallel with the contours creates a communal outdoor activity space that has successfully fostered student inter action and provides a distinctly residential environment in contrast to the institutional built environment of the rest of the University campus.

Every room faces north to benefit from solar access whilst siting below the brow of the hill protects the village from winter south-westerly wind.

Services provided: Brief development, design, tender documentation, contract administration during construction.
