1990 - 1992
The library extension was one of the three projects commissioned by Western Sydney University after the formation of Tim Earnshaw and Partners Architects in 1990.
The client brief was to double the floor area of the original Cox Architecture designed library, and so we emulated the form and detailing of the existing library resulting in a seamless transition between the existing and new building.
Study carrels overlook a landscaped outdoor area that a few years later was to become a landscaped courtyard enclosed by another of our WSU projects, the Law Faculty building.
As lead consultant our involvement in the project covered brief development, design, tender documentation, and contract administration services.
