UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY SYDNEY KURING GAI - CLINICAL PRACTICE LABORATORIES

 2009 - 2010

Between 1990 and 2012 Tim Earnshaw and Partners completed over 80 UTS  fit-out projects, ranging from complex laboratories to teaching spaces and academic office fit-outs.

The Kuring-Gai project involved the internal demolition and reconfiguration of seven existing labs at the Kuring-Gai Campus to provide six clinical practice laboratories and one high-tech two-bed Clinical Simulation Laboratory.
The Clinical Simulation Laboratory will allow students to undertake procedures on Simulation Men, whilst being observed and directed by teaching staff in a one-way viewing booth adjacent to the laboratory.
Care was taken to replicate exactly a contemporary hospital ward environment whilst also providing the most up to date teaching facilities.
Reticulated services within the laboratories include simulated oxygen and suction facilities with power and data points incorporated into the service panel behind the state of art electronic adjustable hospital beds, the equivalent to those found in practising hospital in Australia.

Services provided: Brief development, design, tender documentation, and construction phase services.
