WESTERN SYDNEY UNIVERSITY - PARRAMATTA CAMPUS ADAPTIVE REUSE OF EIGHT HERITAGE BUILDINGS

1995 - 1998

When WSU occupied the former Rydalmere Psychiatric Hospital site the numerous heritage listed buildings had been vacant and neglected for many years. Tim Earnshaw and Partners were charged with restoration and adaptive re-use of eight heritage listed buildings to accommodate the following facilities:
Law School and Moot Court
Campus Book Store
Student Administration Services
General Teaching
Academic Offices

The office engaged heritage architect Barry McGregor to work with us on the project.

WSU elected to procure the project under a construction management contract. As a consequence the project required volumes of drawings reproducing original detail and detailing new insertions into the existing building fabric, as work on site progressed.

Services provided: Brief development, detailed measured drawings, design, tender documentation, and construction phase services.
